摘要: Abstract The skin acts as a barrier between the host and environment. It comprises several layers is colonized by various micro-organisms that may invade cause infection of one or more layers. most common pathogens are Staphylococcus aureus group A streptococci. Infections soft tissues affect all age groups. Predisposing factors include pre-existing conditions, trauma, diabetes mellitus immune suppression. They occur single recurrent episodes, be mild self-limiting severe progressive, leading to systemic complications such bacteraemia metastatic infection. Diagnosis usually clinical, but investigations needle aspiration, biopsy surgical debridement sometimes necessary obtain specimens for microbiological examination culture. This contribution discusses some tissue infections. Impetigo superficial epidermis. Deeper infections involving dermis ecthyma, folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles, erysipelas cellulitis. Wound less since introduction perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis.
