摘要: Abstract : A survey of the Marine Physical Laboratory deep tow instrumentation system is presented. Included are descriptions development and implementation hardware, instrumentation, techniques involved in use this towed submersible instrument platform for oceanographic research. The equipped with up-, down-, forward-, side-looking sonars, as well low-frequency (rkHz) bottom penetrating sonar, proton precession magnetometer, precision temperature probe, stereo cameras strobe light, snapshot television. Control information data telemetered along supporting coaxial cable bilaterally between fish near laboratory aboard ship. Precision navigation both ship accomplished by means a network acoustic transponders. Since its initial usage late 1964, has been operation over 10,000 hours depths down to exceeding 7000 meters.
