Cognitive impairment among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Jimma University Specialized Hospital, Southwest Ethiopia

摘要: Cognitive impairment is the major health problem particularly in elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study was to determine magnitude cognitive and associated factors among diabetics Jimma University Specialized Hospital, 2016. Comparative cross sectional employed 105 mellitus patients matched healthy individuals at Hospital using consecutive sampling technique. Mini-mental state examination scale used measure function. Frequency, independent t-test, logistic regression were carried present data. Variables p≤0.05 considered as significant association between dependent outcome variables. Prevalence higher than (53.3%). Age, occupations, fasting blood glucose level, treatment options for predictors patients. prevalence significantly non-diabetes participants. This intended offer information on concerned bodies designing diagnosis management strategies focusing counseling preventing risk factors.
