摘要: The objective of the present study is to monitor reclamation activity in mining areas. Monitoring these reclaimed sites vicinity areas and on closed Over Burden (OB) dumps critical for improving overall environmental condition, especially developing countries where area around mines are densely populated. evaluated success Block II Jharia coal field, India, using Landsat satellite images years 2000 2015. Four image processing methods (support vector machine, ratio vegetation index, enhanced normalized difference index) were used quantify change cover between also relationship health moisture content remote sensing techniques. Statistical linear regression analysis revealed that Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) coupled with Moisture (NDMI) best method monitoring when compared other indices. A strong (r(2) > 0.86) was found NDVI NDMI. An increase 21% from 213.88 ha 258.9 ha 2015 observed an open cast mine, indicating satisfactory activity. results indicated improved over years.
