摘要: This paper deals with design and refinement criteria of erbium doped hole-assisted optical fiber amplifiers for applications in the third band communication. The amplifier performance is simulated via a model which takes into account ion population rate equations power propagation. electromagnetic field profile propagating modes carried out by finite element method solver. effects number cladding air holes on are investigated. To this aim, four different lightguide having designed compared. optimal gain, length, noise fig. discussed. numerical results highlight that, increasing holes, gain can be improved, thus obtaining shorter length. For concentration NEr=1.8×1024 ions/m3, G(Lopt) increases up to ≅ 2dB from M=4 M=10.
