摘要: This is the Guest Editor's introduction to Special Issue on “Science of Science: Conceptualizations and Models Science”, Journal Informetrics. The discusses challenges towards a theoretically grounded practically useful science science. It provides brief chronological review relevant work argues for (1) development common frameworks comparison combination existing approaches, theories, laws, measurements, (2) quantitative qualitative studies science, (3) operationalization theoretical concepts in terms measurement empirical evidence. Next, three visual conceptualizations are discussed compared. Each them framework works, means combine data, helps operationalize communicate using data. Last but not least, contributions interlinkages among papers included this issue discussed.
