摘要: The Water Framework Directive (WFD) methodology, proposed by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Greece (WFD-MEEG), Canadian Council Ministers Quality Index (CCME-WQI) are comparatively applied to evaluate chemical status a major transboundary river. quality parameters were monitored at 11 sites along main stream river its tributaries, five in reservoirs, on monthly frequency, period from May 2008 2009. temperature (T), dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, electrical conductivity (EC) measured in-situ, while water samples collected for determination total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical demand (BOD), (COD), nitrite-, nitrate- ammonium-nitrogen, Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), ortho-phosphates (OP), phosphorus (TP), chlorophyll-a (Chl-a). also analyzed seven heavy metals (i.e., Cd, Pb, Hg, Ni, Cr, Cu, Zn) 33 priority substances, as listed Annex II EU 2008/105/EC. results showed that physicochemical T, DO, EC, inorganic nitrogen, TKN, OP, TP, TSS, Chl-a) within natural range. mean concentration did not exceed limits set WHO (2003, 2017) drinking water. Regarding some them anthracene, fluoranthene, polyaromatic hydrocarbons) various stations higher concentrations than Annual Average Environmental Standards (AA-EQS). Based WFD-MEEG was 'good' class, according CCME-WQI ranged 'marginal' category. It seems is stricter but could be WQI appropriate use.
