摘要: ABSTRACT This article explores the transition to renewable energy for all purposes in developing countries. Ethiopia is chosen as a case study and an exemplary of countries with comparable climatic socioeconomic conditions. The techno-economic analysis performed LUT Energy System Transition model, while socio-economic aspects are examined terms greenhouse gas emissions reduction, improved services job creation. Six scenarios were developed, which examine various policy constraints, such emission cost. Best Policy Scenarios cost less than Current generate more job. results this research show that it least costing, emitting most job-rich gradually Ethiopia’s system into one dominated by solar PV, complemented wind hydropower. modelling outcome reveals not only technically economically possible defossilise Ethiopian system, but option greatest societal welfare. first its kind from long-term perspective.
