摘要: This article attempts to review and synthesize some new evidence on the employment problems of young blacks, especially relating issues skill spatial mismatch, racial discrimination, crime, immigration. I also discuss various interpretations these phenomena highlight fact that both shifts in demand (that is, employers jobs) characteristics responses supply workers) labor market appear be responsible for recent trends earnings among blacks. implies government policy should focus directly demand-side (such as job availability) short term, improving adjustment black force over time.
