摘要: In the last few years, number of sensors and data collection systems available to a mapping agency has grown considerably. field, in addition total stations measuring position, angles distances, surveyor can choose from hand-held GPS devices, multi-lens imaging or laser scanners, which may be integrated with laptop tablet capture topographic directly field. These are joined by mobile solutions, mounted on large small vehicles, sometimes even backpack carried walking around site. Such allow raw collected rapidly while interpretation performed back office at later date. air, format digital cameras airborne lidar being augmented oblique camera systems, taking multiple views each position used create more realistic 3D city models. Lower down atmosphere, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) have suddenly become ubiquitous. Hundreds companies sprung up, providing images UAVs using ever capable consumer cameras. It is now easy buy 42 megapixel off shelf local shop, Canon recently announced that they developing 250 sensor for market. While these not yet rival metric today’s photogrammetrists, rapid developments technology could eventually lead commoditization high-resolution systems. With streaming so many sources, main issue how interpret, store update such way as enable creation maintenance end product. This might map, ortho-image surface model today, but soon it just likely point cloud, textured mesh, model, Building Information Model (BIM) all modelling entails. this paper, we describe research/investigations into technologies outline findings National Mapping Agency (NMA). We also look challenges new will bring an NMA, suggest ways work meet deliver products desired our users.
