摘要: Collateral vascular channels are those arteries and veins which are interposed as connecting links capable of bypassing areas of vascular occlusion. Their basic function is to carry blood in sufficient quantities to maintain the circulatory equilibrium of the part they serve. In the arterial system, most diseases which lead to the development of collateral circulation interfere with delivery of blood to the tissues, often resulting in either acute or chronic ischemia.
