摘要: In Reticulitermes chinensis, a close relative of R. speratus with asexual queen succession, unfertilized eggs can be produced but do not hatch as larvae. To explain this phenomenon, we analyzed the physiological differences between eggs/unmated queens and fertilized eggs/mated queens. Fertilized had significantly lower quantities five amino acids (Cys, Met, Ile, Leu Tyr), Ca, protein cholesterol during development. The higher levels four trace elements (Na, K, Zn Fe) in their mated indicated that might transfer these to aid Mn, triglycerides serotonin Mn glucose suggested substances are very important for normal ovarian embryonic growth. different expression three reproductive genes (vtg 1, rab 11 JHE 1) they involved regulation Overall, changes indices may substantially affect growth inhibit development chinensis.
