摘要: For Europe, a reduction of 80% the potential storage volume due to reservoir sedimentation is predicted by 2080. Sedimentation processes trigger decrease and related restriction in hydropower production. Further, artificial downstream flushing deposited fines has manifold effects on aquatic ecology, including changes morphology sediment quality, as well increased turbidity subsequent stress for species. However, it common lower water surface reservoirs technical inspections, which not comparable operations. The presented case study deals with such controlled drawdown beyond operational level Gepatsch (Tyrol, Austria). Based awareness possible ecological consequences, an advanced set measures integrative monitoring design, consisting detailed event-based quantification suspended sediments, morphology, especially respect fine analyses biological quality element fish reach scale along Inn River have been developed.
