摘要: Physical and chemical properties of aggregates at the micro scale strongly impact adhesive bond (strength durability) between bitumen aggregate. These include surface free energy, interaction potential, specific area. This report describes testing methods developed for Universal Sorption Device (USD), Wilhelmy Plate (WP), microcalorimeter (MC) to measure these aggregates. Test results from five different asphalt binders nine are presented demonstrate how can be used to: (1) select combinations that more resistant moisture damage, (2) additives improve performance mixtures based on physico-chemical nature aggregate, (3) predict resistance mixture moisture-induced damage.
