摘要: Members of the Meis family TALE homeobox transcription factors are involved in many processes vertebrate development and morphogenesis, showing extremely complex transcriptional spatiotemporal expression patterns. In this work, we performed a comprehensive study chicken genes using multiple approaches. First, assessed whether genome contains Meis3 ortholog or harbors only two genes; gathered several lines evidence pointing to specific loss an early ancestor birds. Next, studied diversity generated from through alternative splicing during development. Finally, detailed analysis chick Meis1/2 patterns embryogenesis organogenesis. We show that both begins at gastrulation stage three embryonic layers, presenting highly dynamic with overlapping as well distinct domains throughout Developmental Dynamics 240:1475–1492, 2011. © 2011 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
