摘要: A synovial plica is present at the dorsoproximal aspect of fetlock joint. The objective this study was to describe location during induced hyperextension using Magnetic Resonance Imaging. For 20 cadaver limbs from five Warmblood horses were used. Measurements made dorsal; palmar/plantar length and thickness with joint in a normal position. During joint, position described; dorsal angle extension contact between proximal phalanx (P1) condyle measured. differed front/hind medial/lateral P1 limbs; lateral medial different positions plica. Four observed: shortened tip curved towards palmar/plantar; projecting distally; distally interposed condyle. hyperextension, close relation plica, variable plica; which suggestive for interface metacarpal/metatarsal bone. However does not seem act consistently as cushioning surface.
