摘要: The microstructure of a metal may be very significantly changed by subjecting the material to severe plastic deformation (SPD) through procedures such as equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) and high-pressure torsion. These lead substantial refinement in grain size so that grains are reduced to, typically, submicrometer or even nanometer range. This paper describes application SPD pure aluminum aluminum-based alloys, with emphasis on factors influencing development homogeneous microstructures equiaxed separated high-angle boundaries. Materials subjected ECAP capable exhibiting exceptional mechanical properties including superplastic ductilities at rapid strain rates. Examples this behavior presented results described showing potential for using approach forming applications high
