A pre–post evaluation of the Adler/Sheiner Programme (ASP): A nursing informational programme to support families and nurses in an intensive care unit (ICU)

摘要: Summary Background ICU nurses often report that timely informational and supportive resources would ease distress for clients providers alike. Objectives This pilot study was aimed to explore the role of a comprehensive information support programme in enhancing work environment, task performance reducing emotional amongst nurses. Research methodology/design Through mixed quantitative qualitative design, were invited complete self-report questionnaires ( n  = 25) participate focus groups  = 7) prior (T1) 6 weeks after implementation (T2). Results Measures physical mental effort found be significantly lower t  = 2.45, p  = 0.02) at post test Statistical trends towards significance observed higher satisfaction  = 1.70,  = 0.10)  = 2.00,  = 0.06) T2. Focus group data revealed felt more supported their work, had with tasks accomplished emotionally being place. Conclusions Preliminary from this suggest designed can enhance well workplace related factors. Work is currently underway document program's impact on family members ICU. Future studies should further how when similar contribute other staff.
