摘要: Multiple shoot induction and plant regeneration using apical bud nodal explants of 100 year old tree Anthocephalus cadamba, an important sacred medicinal in India was achieved for the first time. Aseptic cultured Murashige Skoog (MS) medium augmented with different concentrations BAP (0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 10 mg/l), when maintained 60 days, healthy shoots were induced presence (1 mg/l). Lower (0.1 - 0.5 mg/l) only one per explant. Increase number explant observed higher (2.5, However, elongation completely inhibited. Bud break largely associated seasonal factors. Apical buds during June to August exhibited early within two weeks initial culture. In rest months, very slow irrespective various used medium. Explants sourced from three maturity levels indicated that actively growing mother 1 2 segments more suitable culture initiation than collected mature at dormant stage. Regenerated 3 pairs leaves transferred half strength MS fortified IBA 60% roots, indicating possibility large scale micropropagation.
