摘要: Abstract Mutants of Escherichia coli B/r lacking a major outer membrane protein, protein b, were obtained by selecting for resistance to copper. These mutants showed decreased ability utilize variety metabolites when the present at low concentrations. Also, E. K-12 proteins b and c from shown have an identical defect in uptake various metabolites. results are discussed with regard their implications as role these permeability membrane,
