摘要: Abstract Allozymic variation in natural populations of plants, animals, and humans based on studies published prior to early 1976 involving 243 species, which 14 or more loci were tested, is herein reviewed. Explanatory models are compared contrasted view the evidence see theories best explain genetic populations. The analysis suggests that amounts polymorphism heterozygosity vary nonrandomly between loci, populations, habitats, life zones, correlated with ecological heterogeneity. Natural selection, some form, may often be major determinant population structure differentiation. Yet precise critical experiments must designed test possible alternative hypotheses, establish direct cause-effect relationships profiles, assay contribution single multilocus structures fitness.
