摘要: Roe deer antlers/mandibles are a useful tool for determination of ambient fluoride pollution. Antlers have well-defined annual cycle growth, therefore they represent natural standardisation samples during winter months. On the contrary, mandibles accumulate fluorides whole life an organism, thus reflect aggregated effect pollution trough life-span organism. Both tissues easily available; often systematically collected with purpose cognitive management and control, antlers could be gathered from private well-dated hunters' collections. Considering these benefits, contents were measured in 141 (period 1960-2007) 220 1997-2009) roe deer, shot vicinity largest Slovene Thermal Power Plant Sostanj (STPP) as one major sources Slovenia. Fluoride significantly differed among age categories, ranged 110 to 1210 mg/kg yearlings, 130 2340 young adults, 250 2590 older respectively. levels also different 30.0 227 fawns, 33.8 383 61.5 1020 Comparison results previously reported areas Europe revealed that study area has never been extensively contaminated fluorides. Moreover, trends both confirmed significant decrease after years 1995 2000, when flue-gas cleaning devices constructed on STPP. Indeed, highly positive correlations between emissions STPP mean may assessing temporal
