摘要: : Consumption of flavonoid-rich nutraceuticals has been associated with a reduction in coronary events. The present study analyzed the effects cocoa flavonols on myocardial injury following acute ischemia-reperfusion (I/R). A commercially available extract was identified by chromatographic mass spectrometry. Nineteen different phenolic compounds were and 250 mg flavan-3-ols (procyanidin) isolated 1 g extract. Oral administration incremental doses from 5 mg/kg up to 25 daily for 15 days Sprague Dawley rats (n = 30) produced corresponding increase blood serum polyphenols become constant after mg/kg. Consequently, selected dose (15 mg/kg) administered orally treated group 10) an untreated served as control 10). Both groups underwent surgical occlusion left anterior descending artery reperfusion. Cocoa treatment significantly reversed membrane peroxidation, nitro-oxidative stress, decreased inflammatory markers (IL-6 NF-kB) caused I/R enhanced activation both p-Akt p-Erk1/2. Daily is protective against attenuate inflammation, mitigates apoptosis.
