Value of Prolonged Bed Rest in Management of Cardiomegaly

摘要: Thirty-six patients with persistent cardiomegaly of indeterminable origin were studied to observe the effects prolonged bed rest on heart size. All previously had exhibited little or no response conventional treatment. Treatment consisted in institution and continuation previous therapy, including digitalis diuretics. The over-all was good. Eleven 21 who completed prescribed course showed return size normal, four definite decrease size, six experienced change. Four deserters an additional 11 currently same level during incomplete observation periods. marked clinical improvement.
