摘要: Macrophages may exert a regulatory influence at various stages in the life of lymphocyte - they non-antigen-driven differentiation lymphocytes as exemplified by effects on thymic differentiation; establish mode and form antigen to be presented or recognized lymphocyte; regulate lymphocyte's antigen-driven functions. Each these critical steps needs explaining molecular terms integrated placed context other functions lymphocytes. The control secretion MP is an eloquent example complexities intricate congrol mechanisms internal external operating each step process. A final comment concern question macrophage heterogeneity. Is same cell performing all degradation, presentation, cytotoxicity? Or do we have subpopulation, with different role? This issue not settled. unitarians argue that phagocytes pass through function become more less prominent stage. Certainly, manner which assayed can condition outcome: for one adds 1 % macrophages cultures spleen cells; cytotoxic assays, figure 50 100 per tumor cell! It our feeling until such time membrane molecules are identified used probes identification subsets will resolve this issue. Along lines, been found Ia antigens (Hammerling et al. 1975, Schwartz 1976) divided into two sets basis presence absence Ia. Dorf I cytotoxicity only about 35 50% peritoneal bear (Dorf & Uanue 1977). Exceptionally, some exudates up 75% positive cells. Neither Ia-positive nor Ia-negative change significantly after prolonged periods culture. Whether results indicate defined now being investigated.
