摘要: Micelles of different surfactants are well known to affect chemical equilibria and reactivities by selectively sequestering the reagent substrates through electrostatic hydrophobic interactions. In this article, effects micelles various on parameters Ce(IV)-catalyzed Belousov–Zhabotinsky (BZ) oscillatory reaction at 35°C in nonstirred closed conditions studied employing spectrophotometry tensiometry. Surfactants used study cationics hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) pentamethylene-1,5-bis(N-hexadecyl-N,N-dimethylammonium)bromide gemini (Gemini), anionic sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS), nonionic Brij58, whereas binary surfactant systems cationic–nonionic CTAB+Brij58 anionic–nonionic SDBS+Brij58. The results revealed that induction period shows a definite variation with increasing concentration above their critical micelle (cmc). amplitudes oscillation absorbance maxima minima enhanced presence CTAB Gemini surfactants, SDBS Brij58 have almost no effect nature oscillations. However, mixed SDBS+Brij58 mixtures show quite overall behavior oscillations has been attributed positive charge surface some extent nitrogen head group. may be synergistic nature. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
