Impact of a prevention program on aggressive children's friendships and social adjustment

摘要: A group of 46 aggressive boys aged 8 to 9 years participated in a prevention program aimed at reducing their externalizing problems the short term and preventing delinquency long term. Outcome measures were collected during 3-year period following program. At that time, 10, 11, 12 old. included teacher ratings aggressiveness self-reports delinquent behaviors. The boys' friends rated on disruptive behaviors by classmates. experimental outcome compared obtained from 58 control group. subjects' best also compared. Differences teacher-rated between two groups increased one year next for followup period. Similarly, friends' scores differed increasingly over effect friendships mediating impact with regard social adjustment stressed.
