摘要: While numerous genomes of Leishmania spp. have been sequenced and analyzed, an understanding the evolutionary history these organisms remains limited due to unavailability sequence data for their closest known relatives, Endotrypanum Porcisia spp., infecting sloths porcupines. We analyzed three members this clade in order fill gap. Their comparative analyses revealed only minute differences from Leishmaniamajor genome terms metabolic capacities. also documented that number genes under positive selection on Endotrypanum/Porcisia branch is rather small, with flagellum-related group being over-represented. Most significantly, analysis gene family evolution a substantially reduced repertoire surface proteins, such as amastins biopterin transporters BT1 species when compared amastigote-dwelling Leishmania. This reduction was especially pronounced δ-amastins, subfamily cell proteins crucial propagation amastigotes inside vertebrate macrophages and, apparently, dispensable Endotrypanum/Porcisia, which do not infect cells.
