摘要: Neisseria meningitidis bacteria of serogroup A are causing recurring meningitis epidemics on the African continent. An outer membrane vesicle (OMV) vaccine against meningococci made from a subgroup III meningococcal strain was previously shown to induce antibodies with serum bactericidal activity (SBA) in mice. We have here further investigated properties OMV vaccines five different strains grown synthetic medium low iron content. In addition major proteins (PorA, PorB, RmpM, Opa and OpcA), small amounts NadA, TdfH, Omp85, FetA, FbpA NspA proteins, as well lipooligosaccharides, were detected vaccines. The used immunise Anti-meningococcal IgG mouse sera analysed by immunoblotting enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay OMVs, live cells SBA flow-cytometric assay. induced high opsonophagocytic activity. strongest responses directed PorA. Significant also observed strain, which did not express PorA, whereas no clone IV-1 strain. may be an alternative polysaccharide conjugate for Africa.
