摘要: Much literature focusing on the academy is concerned with spread of neo-liberalism into university sector. We argue that universities in Canada are operating an era “accountability governance,” ideologies, discourses, and practices centred quality, accountability, efficiency. explore interplay between accountability governance as a regime power work faculty associations, especially they strive to preserve members’ professional autonomy control over their academic work. Using in-depth qualitative interviews executive members several Ontario we themes neo-liberalization corporatization university, shrinking budgets, program reviews, strategic mandates. While opportunities for action resistance unions arise, particularly at level senate, more militancy radicalism not favoured by many members, political often seen “unprofessional.”
