摘要: Wildlife planning for renewable energy must cope with the uncertainties of potential wildlife impacts. Unfortunately, environmental policies which instigate and those protect are not coherently aligned—creating a green versus dilemma. Thus, climate mitigation efforts trigger development, but then face substantial barriers from biodiversity protection instruments practices. This article briefly reviews wind interactions, highlighting lively debated effects on bats. Today, siting guided by precautionary principle in an attempt to carefully address challenges. However, this attitude creates limitations as it struggles negotiate aforementioned More adaptive management strategies practices hold reconcile these discrepancies some degree. approach is discussed using facets case studies policy, planning, siting, operational stages Germany United States, one showing action solar well. attempts highlight benefits more approaches well possible shortcomings, such reduced security developers. In conclusion, show that operation can be designed supplement enhance energy.
