摘要: The phase-coherent oscillatory dynamics on the 11-year frequency band (Schwabe cycle) is a common feature in all characteristic observables of solar activity. In this work, wavelet-based framework [1,2] applied for studying mutual phase synchronicity these oscillations. As problem specific scientific interest, variability recorded both hemispheres systematically studied. It demonstrated that time-varying shifts between activity Northern and Southern provides major contribution to so-called North-South asymmetry (NSA). presented results indicate NSA observations are consistent with assumption different long-term diffusion two weekly chaotic coupled oscillators, which evolve coherently time. obtained quantitative interhemispheric critically compared outcome other studies using complementary methods time series analysis [3]. statistical reliability implications derived shift result discussed. By sophisticated continuation extrapolation [4], recently hypothesised relationship strong asynchrony hemispheric occurrence great minima [5] reexamined.
