摘要: OBJECTIVE Postmenopausal women (PMW) are at high risk for disabling pain and physical inactivity. This study sought to enhance the understanding of relationships between activity (PA) among PMW using heat sensitivity test conditioned modulation test. We hypothesized that, compared with active women, (i) inactive would report higher intensity unpleasantness ratings; (ii) in high, but not low, stimulus intensities; (iii) have less modulation. METHODS Sixty-eight rated hot stimuli presented thenar eminence hand. A subset 31 a (noxious heat) conditioning (cold water) as part task. PA was assessed objectively accelerometry. RESULTS Mixed-model analysis variance (2 × 4 2; Temperature Pain Status) showed that than (F3,192 = 3.526, ∂η 0.052, P 0.016). Significantly lower ratings were found highest (49°C) only (t11 2.523, 0.028). The other hypotheses supported. CONCLUSIONS is associated reduced painful high-intensity pain.
