摘要: This is a review of research into the ecological role saltmarsh as habitat used directly by fish and nektonic crustaceans such shrimp (prawns) portunid crabs. The quality information about direct use saltmarshes nekton poor, with even most influential works suffering from obvious limitations. Attempts to generalize are hampered sampling difficulties, poor design, inconsistent reporting flooding regime landscape structure. difficulty in shallow, vegetated marsh flats while inundated contributes fragmentary results work. A range methods have been described that vary portability, size, amount above-ground structure, escape rates nekton, expense; none has yet become standard. Poor experimental design studies includes lack replication, limited spatial scale, baseline data before management changes made. determine effects on commercial fisheries losses area or correlations between catch loss should active adaptive management. second type study, aimed at understanding how important fisheries, can be tackled usefully smaller scale. To assist comparison different studies, reported proportion time submerged, structure proportions covered intertidal flats, pools drainage creeks. Flooding sites then put context typical pattern for under study.
