摘要: The Mars Odyssey Gamma-Ray Spectrometer is a suite of three different instruments, gamma subsystem (GS), neutron spectrometer, and high-energy detector, working together to collect data that will permit the mapping elemental concentrations on surface Mars. instruments are complimentary in have greater sensitivity low amounts hydrogen, but their signals saturate as hydrogen content gets high. signal GS, other hand, does not at high contents sensitive small differences even when very abundant. GS dependence depth, thus by combining both sets we can infer only amount constrain its distribution with depth. In addition determines abundances several elements. basis technique, processing requirements described some expected applications scientific problems.
