International Journal for Parasitology 19 : 639–645. Luminometry has been used measure the respiratory burst that is elicited by different forms species Leishmania Herpetomonas . Mid-log phase metacyclic promastigotes L. major evoked large responses; due metacyclics was lower slower, but they also bound in smaller numbers than mid-log cells. Promastigotes mexicana stimulated a whereas amastigotes little or none. donovani culture muscarum m. ingenoplastis all responses neutrophils. There was, however, very promastigotes, when were added numbers. This ‘inhibition’ not apparent with
