Fluid dynamics and mixing behavior of a static mixer using simultaneously Particle Image Velocimetry and Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence measurements

摘要: The mixing behavior around a SMX-type static mixer segment has been investigated experimentally by using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) simultaneously. To quantify mixing, velocity fields concentration have measured for different Reynolds numbers along vertical horizontal sections directly behind the mixer. experimental data post-processed. A spectral analysis of simultaneous PIV PLIF measurements carried out, in order to determine characteristic frequencies induced correlations between concentrations. Furthermore, efficiency quantified considering segregation index.
