摘要: The authors have performed immunocytochemical investigations of the distribution various cell types in human atherosclerotic plaques using monoclonal antibodies specific to smooth muscle cells (CGA7 [Gown et al, J Cell Biol 1985, 100:807-813] and HHF35 [Tsukada Am Pathol (In press)] ); lymphocytes (T200 antigen); endothelial (Factor VIII Ulex europeus agglutinin); macrophages, latter with a new macrophage-specific antibody HAM56. All studies were on methanol-Carnoy's-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. In areas grossly normal aorta, significant numbers macrophages noted within diffuse intimal thickening. cellular composition following three raised lesions analyzed: fibro-fatty lesions, which, despite their gross appearance, consistent fibrous plaques, composed almost exclusively devoid cells; which predominantly displaying considerable morphologic heterogeneity an admixture blood-borne advanced characterized by complex layers variation from region region. Also foci medial even vascularization subjacent more plaques. These demonstrate application technology study lesions.
