摘要: Diabetic foot problems are common throughout the world, and result in major medical, social economic consequences for patients, their families, society. Foot ulcers likely to be of neuropathic origin and, therefore, eminently preventable. Individuals with greatest risk ulceration can easily identified by careful clinical examination feet: education frequent follow-up is indicated these patients. When infection complicates a ulcer, combination limb-threatening, or life-threatening. Infection defined clinically, but wound cultures assist identification causative pathogens. Tissue specimens strongly preferred swabs cultures. Antimicrobial therapy should guided culture results, although such may cure infection, it does not heal wound. Alleviation mechanical load on (offloading) always part treatment. Plantar typically 6 weeks nonremovable casts, because pressure at ulcer site mitigated compliance enforced. The success other approaches offloading similarly depends patient's adherence strategy used relief.
