摘要: At-risk youth, past and current are mostly characterized by typical adolescent behaviors frequently considered problems, community liabilities, recipients rather than resources. Many have been mislabeled diagnosed as future failures despite having the ability to succeed. Those who succeed constituted a rare breed some type of significant element that cultivated achievement. This qualitative study serves contribution scholarship on factors influence affect academic success resilient at-risk high school students. The research also set out identify major influences enabled graduates beyond obstacles barriers existed in their lives.This utilized narrative inquiry approach where participants this shared life’s stories all they attribute how overcame adversities reach goals dreams. Connelly Clandinin (1990) defined way understanding experiences. method employed for was interview open-ended questions were uncover positively affecting student A total eight students participated process. Data collection included recorded interviews, interviews transcribed common themes determined coded allowing data analysis. Through analysis five uncovered found be associated with graduates: including culture support (social theorem), belief inspiration (self-efficacy), being inspired learning from surroundings environments theory), level abilities (self-efficacy) small environment.
