摘要: The study aimed to characterize the continental pisciculture of North Coast/RS, Brazil from inquiry in environmental agencies, Emater/Ascar-RS offices and conducting a survey with 56 farmers/fish farmers region about some aspects activity, such as species farming, infrastructure, production systems, food management, water sources, quality monitoring, effluent treatment, purpose prevention measures control aquaculture activity. results showed that region's fish farming is developed familiarly, semi-intensive system prevailing small areas, up 0.5 ha, excavated tanks, emphasis on exotic species, mainly carp tilapia for own consumption sporadic sale. Regarding aspects, it was verified need regularization It also possible identify "bottlenecks" hinder efficient development region, an compliance, absence trained technical support incentives processing marketing cultivated fish. collected data can collaborate future planning public actions aim strengthen activity still incipient region.
