摘要: Wolves (Canis lupus) are recolonizing Scandinavia and becoming a new limiting factor that should be taken into account in the management of moose (Alces alces). However, there is lack empirical estimates survival after wolf recolonization. We investigated effects abundance, litter size (single/twin calves), climatic factors on annual seasonal calf rates population southeast Norway. used data were obtained over 7 years by radio-tracking regular visual observations 68 cows to determine presence or absence calves at heel. Annual winter 20–40 percentage points lower territory compared with previous similar areas lacked wolves. Cause-specific studies mortality would further enhance our ability relative role various factors. Our study suggests managers regulate quotas buffer
