摘要: A very intriguing question in Open Source software (OSS) development is: why there are only a few open source projects succeed, while the majority of never do. In this research, we examine factors that may influence performance OSS projects. We particularly focus on OSS’s core developers’ role project’s success. Extant research has yet to distinguish developers and non-core from community at large. The different roles projects’ success still remain unclear. Our contributes literature by separating forces general empirically examining importance. Drawing evidences our extensive dataset 300 projects, demonstrated leadership project advocation crucial determining fate could provide better understanding sustainability. It also give practical advice how make successful.
