摘要: Ceria (CeO2) co-doping has been suggested as a means to achieve ionic conductivities that are significantly higher than those in singly doped systems. Rekindled interest this topic over the last decade given rise claims of much improved performance. The present study makes use computer simulations investigate bulk conductivity rare earth (RE) ceria, where RE = Sc, Gd, Sm, Nd and La. results from systems compared ceria co-doped with Nd/Sm Sc/La. pattern emerges data is consistent dominance local lattice strains individual defects, rather synergistic effect reported recently, result, no enhancement samples observed.
