摘要: Recent advances in EOR involve generating foam within underground porous media to displace the oil. The authors investigate important snap-off mechanism of gas-bubble generation constricted square capillaries experimentally. smaller bubbles from a larger bubble as it moves through constriction is recorded on 16-mm movies. time required for snap off once they move past and length generated are obtained viewing movie frames. capillary number, ..mu..upsilon/sub T//sigma, varied 10/sup -5/ 5 x -3/ by adjusting wetting-fluid viscosity, ..mu.., surface tension, sigma, adding aqueous surfactants mixtures glycerol water, altering velocity, upsilon/sub T/. Results show that dimensionless depends weakly number size increases almost linearly with increasing number. Surfactants create dynamically immobile interfaces surfactant solutions 1 wt% sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) Chevron Chaser SD1000. Compared surfactant-free solutions, breakup factor about 3; at most 3.
