摘要: Abstract The boudin segments of a torn competent layer experience synthetic rotation in layer-parallel simple shear. As long as the individual train are constrained by their neighbors, even highly viscous deforms internally to create necessary space for rotation. rate is then much smaller compared case an isolated segment. Hence, small tilt not indicative low strain. at this stage largely depends on aspect ratio and scaled gap width. Once tilted boudins no longer greatly accelerates. In viscosity between host, develop complex shapes, which may give impression shear-band forming under opposite shear sense. We furthermore investigate behavior trains finite length. terminal displaced out plane, deforming into isoclinal folds, separate groups that rotate direction eventually lead overall chaotic appearance structure. Natural examples domino boudinage from high –strain detachment zone Western Cyclades (Greece) show many similarities with modeled structures suggesting that, deformation, separation indicator
