摘要: Oncology nurses are well versed in the administration of chemotherapy and management associated side effects. The effects range from mild easily managed to severe potentially dose limiting, such as hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs). Although HSRs not common can be seen with any agent, some treatments or medications much higher risks, monoclonal antibodies. Anaphylaxis usually is uniphasic nature; however, 20% biphasic, symptoms resurging after initial resolution original reaction. Some delayed, occurring repeated infusions presenting days weeks drug administration. For specific patients, a protracted period anaphylaxis may occur beyond 24 hours. This article describes proposed pathophysiology for biphasic delayed HSRs, strategies anaphylaxis. Case reports will illustrate patient presentations HSRs. must aware risk understand difference presentation anaphylactic reactions.
