摘要: One of the main difficulties in effective supply chain management is presence organizational barriers. Even within same firm, information sharing may be difficult to attain because “political” issues. In paper we illustrate an in-progress extension a simulation tool for performance evaluation chains fresh produce distribution. such context, item perishability important issue, either characteristics product itself, or shelf life traded off against quality. Because demand uncertainty, when too many items are stocked, discount sales needed clear shelves, and goods even scrapped with corresponding loss profit. We concentrate on large retail where possibly number stores served by single distribution center, acting as transit point optimize transportation received from suppliers. Suitable models must used both ordering decisions at store level allocation center does not receive enough meet orders. case, simple proportional often used, its simplicity “political neutrality.” With exercise, how this policy ignores peculiarities terms uncertainty responsiveness sensitivity quality, resulting potentially suboptimal performance.
