Electrodeposited ZnIn2S4 onto TiO2 thin films for semiconductor-sensitized photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical applications

摘要: Abstract In this study, ZnIn 2 S 4 /TiO heterostructure was successfully synthesized on ITO-coated glass substrates via a facile two-step process from aqueous solution. First, TiO thin film prepared by sol–gel and deposited onto ITO coated substrate spin-coating method. Then the zinc indium sulfide semiconductor fabricated electrodeposition technique /ITO electrode. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirm that is mixed of both Anatase Rhombohedric . scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show morphology change with deposition over total coverage electrode surface obtained. Optical absorption spectroscopy study exhibits remarkable red-shift compared to achieve best efficiency visible light absorption. Therefore, it expected apply visible-light photocatalysis solar cells. To investigate effect heterojunction photocatalytic activity films, photodegradation methylene blue in presence performed. exhibited strong activity, degradation eached 91% after irradiation only for 4 h. Also, photocurrent density produced reached 0.8 mA cm −2 , about four times higher than measured film. These results indicate have better photo-electrochemical performance pure films under illumination. As result, obtained would great potential Photoelectrochemical devices.
