摘要: The purpose of this study was to determine if alcohol consumption and endotoxin injection change the rate apoptosis in pancreas. Rats were fed a Lieber-DeCarli diet for 14 weeks. At weeks, animals injected with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or saline killed. pancreata resected snap frozen. Apoptosis detected by TUNEL assay. Caspase-3 activity, Bcl-2 (protein), Fas ligand (mRNA) assayed pancreas extracts alpha-amylase plasma. Alcohol feeding significantly decreased caspase-3 increased Bcl-2. LPS activity mRNA only alcohol-fed, LPS-injected rats. labeling These data show that (a) long-term suppresses pancreas; (b) increases (c) expression opposite directions; (d) positivity are increased, is ethanol-fed + results suggest prolonged may sensitize acinar cells endotoxin-induced injury raise possibility similar mechanism cause pancreatitis human alcoholics.
